A date with Duffy in Newcastle

By Paul Smith • Aug 20th, 2008 • Category: music

Aimee Anne Duffy, then. Girls respect her because of her effortless and natural ways, and boys adore her because, well… just because.

And everyone loves her music, as sweet and fattening as a spoon of Lyons Golden Syrup licked by Marlena Shaw.

After filling The Cluny to bursting point earlier in the year with perhaps the best example of pre-booking ever witnessed, Welsh popster Duffy returns to the North East on Wednesday 3rd December to play the Carling Academy.

Armed with the uber-slick, Motown-groomed anthem Mercy, the radio-friendly Warwick Avenue and the jillion* selling album Rockferry, it’s sure to be a treat.

Yeah, we like Duffy. So sue us. If you’re with us, then tickets go on sale Friday morning (22nd) at 10am.
