Go West - Kayne to play Newcastle

By Paul Smith • Aug 27th, 2008 • Category: music

Kayne West. Newcastle. Kayne West. Newcastle. Nah, that can’t be right, shirley? The nine-time Grammy Award-winning American rapper and producer arrives at Metro Radio Arena on Thursday 13th November with his Glow in the Dark tour.

You know the music. West’s last album, 2005’s Late Registration, debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, was nominated for the Grammy for Album of The Year, and won the Grammy for Rap Album of The Year.

And Stronger from West’s most recent album The Graduation still has the weekend crowds bouncing off the floor with its sample of Daft Punk’s classic Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.

Glow in the Dark promises a spectacular set including a robot designed by artist Christian Colon, creatures designed by the Jim Henson creature store, as well as Daft Punks’ Pyramid.

As always with these high-profile events, expect the multi-millionaire and his entourage to check in the Premier Inn on City Road. We’re told that celebrities get an extra hash brown.

Tickets cost £32.50 go on sale on Friday morning at 9am and are available from the usual outlets.
