Man critical after Newcastle stabbing

The BBC reports that a man is in a critical condition in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach in Newcastle.
Police were called to the East Garth area of Newbiggin Hall in the north west of the city, where they discovered a man with stab wounds.
Three women and one man, believed to be known to the victim, are helping Northumbria Police with inquires.
Officers are keen to speak to the taxi driver who took the man to Newcastle General hospital earlier today.
