- While in Dubai, Mike Ashley reportedly asked investors for £481 million to buy Newcastle United, according to an Arab website. The figure, reported on Arabian Business.com, is more than double what Ashley has invested in the club.
- Two teenage girls in Newcastle have been robbed by a man believed to have been carrying a knife. The girls were walking along Titan Road in Walker when a man on a bike approached them, began chatting, and then threatened them.
- Another knife attack in Newcastle, this time on Scarborough Road in Byker. A man was injured after being slashed with a knife inside a house yesterday afternoon.
- While Saturday’s protests at Saint James Park went off peacefully, more or less, it wouldn’t have been the case if Mike Ashley had turned up at the grounds, given what happened to an Ashley lookalike who happened to be at the match.
