Newcastle news - hacked off and sacked off
By Paul Smith • Sep 3rd, 2008 • Category: news
- Tragic news for those people losing their jobs, and a wonderful example of compassion going AWOL; post office workers in Boldon were left shocked after being told their branch was to close… in a letter through the post.
- It’s rare for Sky Sports get a story so completely wrong, so what did happen at Newcastle United yesterday? Was Keegan allowed to walk, only for the club to back-pedal once the the anger of the fans became evident? Today the club claimed talks were ongoing with Keegan, though the Daily Mail placed him in Manchester.
- Talks are taking place today to try to stop strike action which would disrupt a multi-million pound project to replace the street lighting in South Tyneside.
- A man who was killed after he was hit by a train approaching West Monkseaton Metro station last Friday morning has been named by police.
