Newcastle News - QE2 returns to the Tyne

- The QE2 is returning to the River Tyne next week before departing on her final ocean cruise. First launched by the Queen in 1967, the famous vessel will be visiting the Port of Tyne next Wednesday.

- A 54 year-old man died yesterday morning, after falling from the Tyne Bridge.

- A civil servant from South Shields is being prosecuted for the alleged publication of a blog detailing the kidnap, torture, mutilation and murder of Girls Aloud.

- Police in North Tyneside have made six arrests after stepping up patrols at Metro stations. Officers used a dog to check travellers in North Shields and Whitley Bay for controlled drugs at the weekend.
