- The thieves who held up Berrys Jewellers at Grey’s Monument yesterday morning made off with £130,000 worth of watches. Police have released CCTV footage of the gunman (left) who is believed to be from Eastern Europe. We’re no detectives, but we’re pretty sure you can make out his face.
- A North Shields man has been jailed after stabbing a teenager in a knife attack in the town in April.
- Northumbria Police are certain that the killers of Newcastle couple Zhen Xing Yang and Xi Zhou must have left the crime scene by the front door. Because of the ferocity of the attack, the murderers are likely to have been heavily blood-stained when they walked out of the flat onto Croydon Road.
- A teenager has been arrested for allegedly shining a laser pen at a police helicopter in Gateshead.
- And finally, to prevent this post turning into a full blown episode of Crimestoppers, schoolchildren in South Shields have been asked to think up questions to ask God. Bet they blow it on the practical.
