Newcastle news - there’s a storm coming…

- Two masked men fled empty-handed early this morning after attempting a raid on the petrol station on Derwenthaugh Road in Blaydon.
- A man wasstabbed in the face during an attack on Union Street in Wallsend last night.
- Regeneration of the old Circatex electronics factory site in South Shields will create new housing and 200 jobs in the town.
- The accompanying image of storm clouds looming over St James Park tonight, taken by Paul J White, says it all. According to nearly all the national press, manager Kevin Keegan left the club this morning, only for the club to issue a press release this evening stating the club “had not sacked Kevin Keegan as manager”.
Confusion surrounds the events of the day, with sources stating Keegan had indeed left Newcastle. Does that mean Keegan walked? How long will the storm at SJP continue?
