Tyneside estate agents close for business

There have been plenty of rumours and whispers about estates agents laying off staff and struggling to pay the bills, but little in the way of actual evidence.

However in Whitley Bay, a third estate agents has just been closed this week, thanks to the seemingly apocalyptic credit crunch.

The News Guardian reports that the Halifax estate agents in Park View has been shut down after its owners - not Halifax, but a licensee - went into administration. All staff have been made redundant.

Last week BHP Adamsons closed their branch in the town, because of the current housing market and financial constraints.

It follows Right Moves’ decision to shut branches of Reeds Rains in Whitley Bay and North Shields.
