The two students who were murdered in Newcastle on Saturday have been identified by Northumbria Police.
Zhou Qian was a female student from central China’s Hunan Province, and Yang Zhenxing from northeastern China’s Dalian city was a graduate trying to establish his own business in the city.
Xin Yang, a student studying at Newcastle University, said the some of the Chinese students living in the West end of Newcastle were considering moving away from the area, where the security situation is “not satisfactory” as quite a number of students have been harassed by local teenagers.
Xin said he received some emails from China telling him that some of the students who are preparing to study in Newcastle have stopped their process, and are considering shifting to other cities or even countries for their overseas education.
The Chinese embassy is closely following the case, urging the local police to find the murderers as soon as possible. From xinhuanet.com.
