- Read this slowly now: NO. ENTRY. It seems nearly 2000 vehicles have struggled with the concept since the High Level bridge reopened just three weeks ago; only buses and taxis can now cross the bridge in one direction, but that hasn’t stopped folk sneaking over. Or so they thought.
- A 15 year old girl is rescued by police officers from the River Tyne at North Shields.
- Break out the green bins: Gateshead Council has agreed to recycle half of all domestic waste generated by households by 2020. The figure currently stands at 26%.
- A 39 year old woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a baby found in Wallsend last week, according to the BBC.
